Tutorial: Fondant Lady Bug

Today we are going to make a special figurine for a special birthday cake!

Because today is Gisele's 1st birthday!
Her mommy asked us to make a special birthday cake. 

And so, we're giving you a tutorial for how to make a ladybug out of fondant or gumpaste. 

And it's so easy, you will surely try it!

Patacones Recipe: Cooked Fried Plantains

In April 2014, I visited Guatape in Medellin Colombia, with some friends. After a great walk up the mountain, and of course back down, we had lunch at a very nice bar/ restaurant, called La Fogata.


As an appetizer, we ordered patacones, also known as cooked fried plantains (at least that's my translation).

Pictured here, is one of their fish dishes, and under the fish you can see one of the patacones.

Ftoyer Recipe: Cheese, Beef and Spinach

I've been wanting to eat ftoyers fatayer) for quite a while now. So we decided to try and make them. 

This dough is easy, doesn't rise - takes about half an hour to just sit there - and is so soft, you just might eat half the batch.

After Google-ing and YouTube-ing several recipes, we decided to try one, tweak it, and share with you.
